SHARP TRANSACTION UPTICK GOING INTO 4Q25
Market Overview
The pre-owned business jet market has stabilized after post-pandemic fluctuations, returning to pre-2020 norms with inventory levels at a 20-year average of about 10% of the fleet available. In 2024, total pre-owned transactions reached 1,846 units valued at $13.4 billion, with 64% occurring in the U.S.
Light jets like the Citation M2 have outperformed larger segments in price retention, depreciating more slowly since 2020 due to demand for economical, modern, later model light jets. The segment remains balanced for buyers and sellers.

Transactions in the light jet segment increased slightly overall in summer 2025, but for the Citation M2, Q3 saw only 20 deals, a 35% drop from Q2. Despite this, pricing held steady, and days on market average around 151 in as of October 1, 2025.
Trends and Analysis
Based on the 35 M2 transactions occurring in the 6 month period between April 1 and September 30, 2025, there is approximately 6 months of Citation M2 supply on the market. However, as tax motivated buyers enter the market to capture 2025 bonus depreciation, supply is quickly diminishing, with only a few US based, high pedigree, appropriately priced options remaining as of early October, 2025.
Pricing we’re seeing in the current market:

Verity Jet acquired a 2016 with 870TT, TAP Blue Engine program, and Gen2 avionics hardware, prime software upgrades for $3,975,000.
Earlier model 2013 to 2014 M2s are trading in the low to mid $3Ms.
2015 to 2016 models are trending in the $3.6-$3.8M range.
2017 to 2019 M2s are trading in the $3.9M to $4.4Ms.
2020 to 2021 M2s are selling in the mid to high $4Ms.
2022 and newer M2 Gen 2s are seeing fewer transactions as price points are $5.5M+, however there are some good Gen 2 values in the low $5Ms that are sure to sell quickly.
The above assume average total time, no damage or corrosion history, current maintenance, and fully funded TAP Blue engine program.
